No — you can schedule an MRI or other imaging study directly at Titan MRI without a physician referral. However, we do recommend having a referral if your insurance plan requires one. Call us to verify your coverage.
Most MRIs require no special preparation. Wear comfortable, metal-free clothing. Avoid wearing jewelry or accessories. If contrast dye will be used, you may be asked to fast for a few hours beforehand. We'll provide detailed instructions when you schedule.
Most MRI scans take between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on the area being examined. CT scans are typically faster, often under 10 minutes. We'll give you an estimated time when you arrive so you can plan accordingly.
